There is continuous large and rapid expansion in and around Delhi regarding construction of roads, multistoried buildings and other such civil engineering structures. This kindled the interest of civil engineers in the field of soil mechanics. Different Govt. /semi govt/private organizations established their own soil mechanics labs to cater the demands of designers by giving the engineering parameters for the design and also to solve the problems and giving the remedial measures in the field of geotechnical engineering.
